Dem 1. FC Köln achieved their first victory in the Conference League thanks to the two goals by Dejan Ljubicic. A week after the 1-1 draw at OGC Nice, the Bundesliga club won their home game against Czech cup winners FC Slovácko 4-2 (2-0) on Thursday evening.
Ljubicic scored a penalty kick in the 65th minute to make it 3:2 and shortly afterwards to make it 4:2 (79th). Sargis Adamyan (11th minute) and Florian Dietz put the hosts in front after a corner in front of 47,700 spectators.
After the break, Jan Kalabiska (49′) and Milan Petrzela (52′) scored for the Czechs. The success gave Cologne a good starting position in Group D.
