Polygon (MATIC) Suffers Attack on Its Discord Server
Saturday morning, Polygon (MATIC) Discord server hackedcausing the company's teams to lose access to it. Shortly before 9 a.m., Mudit Gupta, Polygon's head of security, effectively ordered users to no longer interact with the server until further notice:
PSA: Do not click on any links in the @0xPolygon community discord until further notice.
It has been compromised and we're trying to get back ownership.

Later in the early afternoon, these accesses were able to be recovered, although some features were disabled as a precaution, pending further investigation:
All bots and external integrations have been disabled while we conduct a security review of each one to prevent this from happening again. Some features may be limited for a while, but you are free to use the server again. Always be vigilant for scams and do not click on any suspicious links. We will never ask you for your seed phrase.
It’s unclear at this point what losses the attack may have caused. However, one investor shared several screenshots showing that a phishing link he clicked on generated more than $140,000 in losses on one of its wallets. He is now seeking compensation from Polygon:

For its part, MATIC is trading at $0.55 at the time of writing, up 2.55% over the last 24 hours. In terms of capitalization, the asset is valued at nearly $5.5 billion, ranking 18th.
