The EU consumer protection organization BEUC called the Google ruling a “groundbreaking decision in favor of consumers”: In the competition cases concerning the tax advantages for Apple in Ireland and Google Shopping, the EU Commission won in court – without any reservations. The European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg has ruled in favor of the European competition authority in the final instance and thus confirmed decisions against the two digital companies. Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager can be satisfied.
