A new update for Windows 11 is causing problems for many users. Microsoft has now stopped the rollout.
The optional Windows update KB5043145 is currently causing significant problems for many users, especially laptops. After installation, the dreaded “Blue Screen of Death” often occurs, which forces the computer into an endless loop.
Despite previous warnings and confirmation from Microsoft, the update is now causing crashes and malfunctions for many users. “PC Welt” reports that the Asus TUF A15 and ROG Strix G17 models are particularly affected. Microsoft then stopped delivering the update.
Users are advised not to install Windows Update
One user describes: “My device got stuck on the start screen and the last option was to restore the old Windows version.” Other affected people also report that the mouse and keyboard no longer worked and WLAN connections were also interrupted.
The case of “blue screens” is particularly problematic, in which computers at some point reach the start screen for “automatic repair”.
Ideally, users should not install the update at all and wait for Microsoft to resolve the issue. If there are boot problems, the update can be removed in recovery mode or directly in the system settings.
