Smartphone deals on Prime Day: Big names, small prices

Google Pixel 9 impressed in the CHIP test with its clear 6.3-inch OLED display, 120 Hertz refresh rate and high brightness. The Tensor G4 processor delivers good performance, but cannot keep up with the best Snapdragon models. It's well equipped with Wi-Fi 7, 5G and eSIM, and the battery life of almost 15 hours is impressive. The dual camera takes excellent photos, but the zoom is weak without a telephoto lens and some AI functions are not available in Germany.

Samsung has reduced the prices of its entire S24 series for Prime Day: The Galaxy S24 Ultra, currently number 1 on the CHIP best list, is now available cheaper. In the test, it impressed with a 6.8-inch OLED display, vibrant colors and high brightness. Battery life is strong at almost 15 hours at 120 Hertz, although charging could be a little faster. The Snapdragon processor offers excellent performance, and the quad camera delivers impressive photos and 8K videos. However, you shouldn't expect too much from the advertised AI functions.
Redmi and Poco: The Xiaomi brands for affordable smartphones
Android users will find some attractive offers from the smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi. The budget brands “Redmi” and “Poco” offer some devices at discounted prices and can certainly shine with the qualities of the main brand Xiaomi in terms of price-performance ratio.
The Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro impressed in the CHIP test with solid technology and an excellent price-performance ratio. The performance and the OLED display in particular make it stand out in the middle class. The battery life is satisfactory and the battery can be charged quickly. However, there are some limitations in terms of features as some functions are outdated or limited. The camera delivers usable results for everyday use, but cannot compete with the premium models in the upper class.
