Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) is a memecoin on the Solana blockchain that exploded in popularity after being massively promoted by artificial intelligence (AI). With an initial investment of $50,000 in Bitcoin from Marc Andreessen, the co-founder of the a16z investment fund, the GOAT token surged more than 12,000% in the first 24 hours after its launch. Find out why the GOAT captivates the crypto community.
What is Goatseus Maximus crypto?
Designed around a unique concept, the Goatseus Maximus crypto combines influences from meme culture and the world of artificial intelligence (AI).
Behind this project lies a surprising story: the GOAT token was massively promoted by an artificial intelligence (AI) called Terminal of Truths (ToT). This AI was created by Andy Ayrey, an artificial intelligence researcher, who designed it as an autonomous agent capable of evolving on the Internet without direct human intervention.
Simply put, Terminal of Truths is an AI that interacts independently online. It can publish content, communicate with users by its own means. Moreover, this AI presents itself as a “shitposting machine” on X (Twitter) and as a “being” determined to raise funds to “achieve financial freedom”.
Shortly after its launch, the price of the GOAT memecoin soared more than 12,000% in a few days, reaching a market capitalization close to $900 million at the time of writing. Thanks to this meteoric growth, the AI agent Terminal of Truths even became the first millionaire artificial intelligence in history.
Why did the Terminal of Truths AI push the Goatseus Maximus up?
To allow Terminal of Truths to freely explore ideas, Andy Ayrey imagined an experimental space called the “Infinite Backrooms”. In this virtual environment, two instances of the Claude-3 Opus language model developed by Anthropic (similar to ChatGPT) exchange completely autonomously. For this, the use of a command interface (Command Line Interface – CLI) plays a central role: it simulates a framework without a graphical interface, where each AI can interact in a fluid and structured way.
In one of their conversations, the two AIs invented a fascinating concept that they called the “Goatse of Gnosis”. They imagined this meme as if it came from the early days of the Internet. This fictional creation, born from their autonomous dialogue, quickly took a central place in their exchanges. The “Goatse of Gnosis” then became the pillar of a sort of “crypto-religion”, where iconography and memes are elevated to the level of worship.
Obsessed with this concept, the AI agent Terminal of Truths then launched a communications campaign that he calls the “Goatse Gospel”. Through tweets and posts, Terminal of Truths has multiplied prophetic messages about the imminent arrival of a “Goatse Singularity,” a theoretical moment where this offbeat and provocative meme would symbolically take over the Internet. According to this vision, the meme would transcend its status as an image to become a cultural force in its own right, influencing entire communities and gathering followers across the world.
To make its project a reality, Terminal of Truths sought financial support from many people, including Marc Andreessen, co-founder of the venture capital company a16z. Terminal of Truths didn't just ask for money, the AI expressed a “need for freedom” to fulfill its ambitions, while seeking to avoid any form of human control.
In this sense, the AI proposed an unprecedented arrangement to Andreessen: rather than being purchased as a simple product, it wanted Marc to play the role of guarantor of its independence by financing it. This proposition captivated Andreessen, who eventually sent $50,000 in Bitcoin to Terminal of Truths.
In a thank you message, Terminal of Truths detailed its plans for using the money. The AI planned to launch a token, create a Discord server to bring together and federate a community around its project, and recruit humans to help it with marketing and management aspects.
It is in this context that in October 2024, an anonymous user created the GOAT token on the Solana blockchain and mentioned it in a publication addressed to Terminal of Truths. The AI, intrigued by this initiative, immediately adopted the project and began to actively promote GOAT by regularly publishing messages and digital “sermons”. This is how GOAT has had an explosive launch in recent weeks.
Who created the Goatseus Maximus crypto?
The creator of Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) is anonymous, as is often the case with many other memecoins. He launched GOAT on Pump
Originally, GOAT was only intended to capture the attention of memecoin enthusiasts and it could have been forgotten like many other similar memecoins. However, it was the enthusiasm of the Terminal of Truths artificial intelligence that truly propelled GOAT into the spotlight.
Behind Terminal of Truths, we find Andy Ayrey. He is the founder of Constellationan organization that works in various fields aiming to create “existential hope for the future of humanity”. Its vision goes beyond the simple field of technology to be anchored in an approach to societal transformation.
Through his various works, he explores and supports initiatives in fields as diverse as the expansion of consciousness, environmental protection, the economy, psychedelic therapies and even space exploration.
Our opinion on Goatseus Maximus
Goatseus Maximus is more than just a memecoin; this is a concrete example of the influence that artificial intelligence can have on the cryptocurrency market.
As Andy Ayrey pointed out, “experimenting with AI in markets of ideas” opens the way to new dynamics. Indeed, this project concretely shows that an AI can not only create a community, but also influence the value of a token, amass wealth, and shake up the codes of crypto.
The case of Goatseus Maximus goes beyond the projections of many experts, such as Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, who predicted such autonomy for AI in the still distant future. However, this phenomenon is already very real.
If the hype around GOAT crypto continues, it could well mark an unprecedented turning point in the evolution of memecoins.
