Fnac Darty presents its digital passport powered by Arianee
This week, the Fnac Darty group made an announcement that might seem innocuous, but which nevertheless demonstrates a breakthrough in blockchain technologies in the lives of the general public. In fact, this is a digital passport, tracing the life of household appliance equipment purchased within the group. If it is not explicitly stated that this is based on a blockchain, the mention of a partnership with Arianee leaves no doubt :
Developed in the form of a QR code based on the open source Arianee protocol, this new tool should allow consumers and those involved in repair and reuse to reliably trace all events in the life cycle of their device , from manufacturing to recycling.
π‘ What is a blockchain?
In the past, Arianee has already made a name for itself, notably by providing its solution within the services of luxury brands such as Breitling or Yves Saint Laurent.
To begin with, this new feature was first deployed on 4,000 devices from the Paris 2024 Olympic Villagewhere the highlighted QR code allows you to better understand what itβs all about:

Here, it is therefore the capacity of blockchain technology to guarantee reliable traceability which is used. And for good reason, this digital passport must be used to certify the proper functioning of a product during its resale, guarantee the origin of the products in question, identify spare parts more easily and provide access to available repair and maintenance services. .

From the 1st quarter of 2025, this initiative will be extended to all second-hand products of the Fnac Darty groupbefore seeing a gradual generalization to all new and repaired products.
In the meantime, the price of Arianee's ARIA20 token increased by 4.6% in 24 hours, trading at just over 0.12 euros per unit at the time of writing.
