BrokerLink has expanded its footprint in Alberta and Atlantic Canada with the acquisition of three brokerages: Bankers and Traders Insurance in Edmonton, Aspen Insurance Brokers Ltd. in Calgary, and SeaLand Insurance Corp. in St. John’s.
All three deals closed Mar. 1, BrokerLink announced Monday. The terms of the acquisitions were not announced.
“These acquisitions not only broaden our presence in Edmonton, Calgary, and St. John’s but also ensure that we continue providing an exceptional customer experience by welcoming talented team members with specialized expertise in their local communities,” BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio said. “We’re excited about our ongoing growth and are always seeking new ways to address the evolving needs of our customers.”

The deal with Bankers and Traders is intended to add expertise for high-net-worth customers in Edmonton, the company announced.
Bankers and Traders is a full-service general insurance brokerage that specializes in personalized service to high-net-worth personal insurance customers. For 25 years, Bankers and Traders Insurance has offered personal insurance for seasonal habitation, watercraft, antique autos, motorcycles and watercraft, and more. On the commercial side, it writes real estate, contractors, transportation and hospitality.
In Calgary, the deal with BrokerIink gives Aspen Insurance Brokers Ltd. more scale, BrokerLink says
Aspen Insurance Brokers has been providing personal home, auto, travel and commercial insurance for more than a decade. On the commercial side, it specializes in building and contents coverage, Commercial General Liability (CGL), surety/bond, course of construction (COC), and commercial automobile.
Meanwhile, in Atlantic Canada, St. John’s-based SeaLand Insurance has been an insurance provider since 2012, specializing in the marine industry and general business.
“As a specialty commercial fishing vessel broker, SeaLand Insurance expands BrokerLink’s expertise in this area and adds substantial volume to the company’s robust marine program and product offering,” BrokerLink commented in a release. “Welcoming SeaLand Insurance brokers to BrokerLink benefits both current and future customers, who will have access to even more enhanced marine solutions.”
With the deal, BrokerLink has more than 200 branches and 4,000 employees across Canada, the brokerage announced.
