We live in the era of communication, in which everything seems fast-paced, a lot of meetings, talking on the telephone with different people, sending emails, etc. So sometimes, being alone is what we need the most.
Walking by yourself
One of the ways of forging a deeper connection with ourselves is by finding the time to take long walks in the park, or wherever we would prefer.
When walking your breathing rate increases, causing oxygen to travel faster through the bloodstream, helping eliminate, helping to eliminate waste products and improve your energy level and the ability to heal.[1]
- Cleaning up our minds from problems,
- Making clear to our inner self that we are part of this world
- Break routine that occupies us day by day
- Walking step by step without any pressure, or hesitation makes us enjoy ourselves.
Meditating your way to peace
Another method that increases the connection with ourselves is Meditation. Try to totally release the body and muscles, don’t think about anything. just imagine that you are the center of the world, nothing can hurt you, or make you suffer. Stay away from a chaotic world, full of different opinions that influence you in certain ways. Declare independence so you can gain sufficient control of your actions. And don’t forget to return back to the ground.
Mindfulness meditation can also lower the level of cortisol- the stress hormone- which helps you feel more relaxed. [2]
Outdoor exercise for more movement
Be ready and motivated to make indoor and especially outdoor exercises. This helps us on going beyond the limits. From outdoor yoga, and hiking, to kayaking, and especially biking.
There are many types of bikes, but one that singles out is the chopper bike.
It is characterized by a unique style, which obviously differs from other bikes. When we sit on it, we gain superiority to decide what’s better for us, also chopper bike boosts our confidence on a larger scale.
The last one is the best because it targets your glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves, arms, shoulders, and back[3].
Music for your heart
Probably people remember many events that have happened in the past, but one single piece of great music may capture all wonderful memories which we may have forgotten. Music has that unique ability to create special visuals through listening to it. We can also skip a little bit from reality and travel with ourselves in each part of the world, or even in the infinite space. In the end, we are relaxed and most likely want to repeat this ritual more often. Music evokes also bad events from our past, but we experience a catharsis that cleans our minds.
Our hobbies bring the best out of us
If we are creative enough, or at least have a passion for painting, or creating original handmade artworks, then we should try this when we are a little bit depressed, confused from our irrational thoughts, and worried about what’s happening around us, stimulating us to know ourselves better than before. Painting is a therapy that releases our inside tension. I think that this artistic expression has many benefits for us for example:
- Bringing outside our unconsciousness.
- Making us connect even deeper with ourselves,
- Making us express all emotions and feelings.
Reading books to feel better
Last but not least important is reading books. This is a fantastic opportunity to go on a long journey, whom which you meet sophisticated writers, and different characters from each book, some of them might have the same characteristics as you, or maybe one of them reminds your youth, teenage time, one particular event that has meant to you, etc. Reading can inspire you to make changes or improve your life concepts. From a particular book, we may create a better understanding of people, and if it’s the right one, we will be a better person.
In a conclusion, we can agree that everyone knows better which way of life works for him. But we can also agree that we should be open to new ideas that might enlighten us, and new habits that can positively change our life, by giving us the prospect of growing a deeper connection with ourselves. Life is too short, so we should live it every single moment.
