Dhe Audi E-tron was the first all-electric vehicle from Audi in 2019. Since then, 150,000 units have been sold around the world, a figure Audi is very proud of. A revised version will be launched in spring 2023 and can already be ordered from now on. Prices start at 74,400 euros. For the facelift, Audi is not only giving its number 1 electrician more range, higher charging capacity, an improved Cd value and an upgraded interior, the child is also getting a new name: it will be called the Q8 E-tron in the future.
As before, in addition to the SUV shape, there is also a Sportback with a flatter rear. There is one electric motor on each axle, in the S models there are even two at the rear. The basic model, called 50, has a maximum output of 250 kW (340 hp), the 55 has 300 kW (408 hp). Both offer 664 Newton meters of torque. As an S, the Q8 E-tron has 370 kW (503 hp) and a whopping 973 Nm of torque.
Particularly important in an electric car: the range. Thanks to a change in cell chemistry, the gross storage capacity has been increased from 71 to 95 and from 95 to 114 kWh. Net remain 89 and 104 kWh, so a maximum of almost 500 or 600 kilometers are possible without charging, at least according to the WLTP standard. The loading talents have also been improved. The new Q8 E-tron now refuels with direct current on the motorway with 150 or 170 kW (previously 120 and 150 kW). In the best case, it can be charged from 20 to 80 percent state of charge in 26 minutes. For the home, there is the option of processing 22 instead of 11 kW from the wall box.
The 4.91 meter long SUV still offers a trunk with a volume of almost 600 liters, in the Sportback it is 555. The charging cable can be placed in the frunk (62 liters) at the front. Also important: the Q8 is the first model to bear the name “Audi” since the 1990s. And the rings are now chromeless and two-dimensional.
