Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Global Risk Solutions (GRS) division has announced the appointment of Rachel Conran (pictured above) as chief underwriting officer for Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), effective Jan. 1. LSM is the commercial, specialty and reinsurance division of Liberty Mutual.
In her new role, Conran will report to Matthew Moore, president of the GRS Office of Underwriting, and Phil Hobbs, president and managing director of LSM. She will be based in Cologne, Germany.
Conran joins Liberty Mutual from Intact Financial Corporation, where she most recently served as CEO and board member of RSA Luxembourg. She has also held senior management and chief underwriting roles at leading global insurers.
“Rachel’s proven specialty underwriting and leadership skills, together with her track record of delivering impressive underwriting performance, made her the ideal candidate for the role,” Hobbs said. “Her expertise, passion and collaboration will add value to clients and brokers.”
