International group – investigators from the USA and Germany smash the “Hive” hacking network

According to their own statements, investigators from the USA and Baden-Württemberg have succeeded in striking a major blow against an international network of cybercriminals and extortionists. More than 1,500 serious cyber attacks against companies worldwide have been assigned to the “Hive” group – more than 70 of them from Germany.

This was announced by the public prosecutor’s office in Stuttgart on Thursday. According to investigators’ estimates, the damage caused to the companies and public institutions affected should “run into the billions”.
