Financing failed: Berlin delivery service startup Yababa surprisingly files for bankruptcy
Another German delivery service has to file for bankruptcy. After a round of financing failed earlier this year, the future of Yababa’s employees is still unclear.
The Berlin food supplier Yababa is insolvent. As reported by “Gründerszene”, a failed round of financing at the beginning of the year is the reason for this.
The investors were not ready to provide the necessary ten million euros. The reason for this is the already difficult situation on the food delivery market and the entire financing environment.
Delivery service Yababa is insolvent: the future of the employees is still unclear
It is still unclear how things will continue with the 100 employees and the 42 locations. The insolvency money initially secures the salary of the employees for three months. Insolvency administrator Niklas Lütcke says to “Gründerszene”: “Everyone involved is trying to achieve a continuation of the company.” But new owners have to be found for this.
With its range of oriental foods, Yababa is primarily aimed at the Turkish and Arabic community. Unlike the competition for Gorillas, Flink and Co., the delivery here does not take place within a few minutes, but only the next day.
