The AI photo editing functions are now available in the Google Photos app for all smartphone models, both on Android OS and on Apple iPhones.
With the “Magic Eraser” “distracting image content” such as people standing around in the background or objects in photos are automatically recognized and simply disappear with a tap of the finger.
Google Photos generates the background extremely quickly and almost perfectly. If you like, you can also simply circle any image areas by hand and make them disappear at the push of a button.
Magic eraser for your photos
However, not every Google Photos user can enjoy the AI photo editing features like the “Magic Eraser”. A paid Google One subscription is required, which also increases the cloud storage space of the photo app from 15 GB to a minimum of 100 GB.
In a blog post, Google announced that it would be offering a free trial for Google One in Google Photos from the beginning of March. Interested parties can then try out the new photo editing functions completely free of charge for a certain period of time.
