While the Visa firm has been mentioning its future stablecoin-related product since the beginning of the year, its roadmap finally seems to be materializing: the American firm is looking for several software engineers. Among the skills required for this position, we find a good knowledge of the Ethereum ecosystem and the technologies on which this blockchain is based. Future products related to stablecoins?
Visa, the payment solutions company, is known for its commitment to the Web3 industry. In recent months, Cuy Sheffield, the head of its cryptocurrency-related arm, has repeatedly confirmed the firm’s commitment to creating products around stablecoins.
In a tweet published recently, he reveals that he is looking for a few software engineers to carry out his roadmap. As a reminder, during the StarkWare conference in February 2023, he said that Visa’s current priority is bridging fiat currencies and stablecoins :

Future products on the Ethereum blockchain?
According to the job description sent by Visa, candidates with knowledge of web technologies3 will be preferred. The skills required for this position include:
- previous experience with the development environment hard hat » allowing the deployment of dApps on Ethereum (ETH);
- a good understanding of layers 1 and 2;
- know how to write smart-contracts using Solidity;
- understand new Ethereum enhancements like ERC-4337.
Also, chances are that Visa develops a product on the Ethereum blockchain. Moreover, in December 2022, the firm had already collaborated with the Ethereum teams by thinking about a feature allowing the automation of transfers to non-custodial wallets.
