Thus, the company's announcement tells us that it accumulated, between April 27 and June 19, the equivalent of 11,931 BTC for approximately $786.0 million. This purchase, to say the least significant, brings the company's total assets to 226,331 bitcoins, for an average purchase price of $36,798 per unit.
At current market prices, such cash represents the equivalent of $14.37 billion, or nearly 1.15% of Bitcoin's total capitalization today.
While on several occasions since the spring we have been able to look back at the bond issues carried out by Microstrategy, this week's announcement is not insignificant. And for good reason, the company rightly announced, in parallel with its BTC purchases, that the net proceeds from a recent sale of convertible notes had brought it $786 million. The number of BTC purchased mentioned above is therefore not due to chance.
