Like the Winklevoss brothers, Jesse Powell, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, donated $1 million to Donald Trump for his presidential campaign. However, it should be remembered that this amount exceeds the legal limit and that the overpayment could be refunded.
Jesse Powell imitates Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss with donation to Donald Trump
While the Winklevoss twins supported Donald Trump with a million dollars each just a week ago, Jesse Powell, the founder of Kraken, is following in their footsteps by donating a similar amount.
For his part, the person concerned made this donation mainly in ETHas he clarified in a message on X:
I just personally donated $1m (mostly #ETH) to @realDonaldTrump.

What seems curious is the amount given. And for good reason, the Winklevoss brothers have just seen a portion of their donations returned, these not being able to exceed $844,600 per donor. Thus, either Jesse Powell rounded up to the million for the needs of his communication, unless he wanted to imitate his competitors, even if it meant seeing the overpayment reimbursed.
Like Tyler Winklevoss, Jesse Powell was particularly critical of the Biden administration :
For too long, the crypto industry has been under attack from Elizabeth Warren, Gary Gensler, and others. Despite massive bipartisan efforts in Congress to put clear rules in place, the Biden White House has stood by and allowed an unchecked regulatory campaign through enforcement.
After the founders of Gemini, the founder of Kraken thus becomes the 3rd major crypto personality to publicly side with Donald Trump through a donation.
