On Monday, thousands of people demonstrated in several Serbian cities against the resumption of lithium mining in a mine that had been closed for two years following mass protests. People marched through the streets of Arandjelovac, Sabac, Kraljevo and Ljig, chanting “Rio Tinto go away.” At least three of the rallies attracted more than a thousand people, according to images on Serbian television.
