In the night from Thursday to Friday, numerous TV stations did not show a signal after midnight. Because an important fiber optic route, over which many programs run, is being swung near Frankfurt, there was only one disturbing image to be seen there for hours. Satellite, cable TV and also IPTV were affected.
TV failure on Friday night

- RTL HD, RTL two HD, Super RTL HD, Nitro HD, N-TV HD, Vox HD, VoxUp SD, Kabel 1 HD, NICK/CC+1 HD, auto motor sport SD, Gute Mood TV SD, National Geographic HD ( M7 packets broadcast via 9 degrees East and retransmitted on numerous cable networks)
- Deutsches Musik Fernsehen, Lilo TV (free TV via 19.2 degrees East)

The swoop took place between midnight and five in the morning. During the work, hundreds of millimeter-wide fiber optic cables had to be cut in two places and welded back to the new bundle of cables.
