Dhe American actor Kevin Conroy, best known as the longtime voice of the comic book character Batman, is dead. He died of cancer on Thursday at the age of 66, the Warner Bros. studio and the comic book publisher DC announced on Friday. Conroy has voiced the superhero in nearly 60 productions since the Batman animated series began in 1992, including films, series and video games, the tribute said.
“Kevin was a brilliant actor,” said “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill, 71, who has voiced the Joker in several Batman productions, according to the release. Conroy was also one of the nicest people ever and he loved him like a brother.
Conroy had studied acting at the legendary New York Juilliard School with colleagues such as Christopher Reeve and Robin Williams. He appeared in many stage productions and in the 1980s he was involved in TV series such as “Ohara” and “The Denver Clan”.
