Pictures published on the Internet showed vehicles trapped under large steel beams on the departure forecourt of one of the airport's terminals. The terminal is only used for domestic flights. The airport authorities said all flights departing from there had been cancelled until the afternoon. Arrivals were still possible and the other terminals were not affected.
New Delhi has been hit by heavy rains in recent days.
