Aldi Nord was the first, and now numerous competitors are following suit: Coca-Cola products are becoming significantly more expensive at German discounters. The price increases are between eight and 13 percent.
After Coca-Cola announced price increases for German retailers (and thus caused a lot of trouble at Edeka), Aldi Nord was the first to react a few weeks ago and increased the prices for the range of drinks.
Now the competition is catching up. The popular lemonades are also becoming more expensive at Aldi Süd, Lidl, Netto and Penny, as reported by the “Lebensmittel Zeitung”. The main focus is on the 1.25 liter bottle, which is particularly important for discounters.
That’s how high the price increases for Coca-Cola products are
According to research by the LZ, the beverage prices for Coca-Cola, Fanta and Co. will increase by eight to 13 percent. In future, the 1.25-liter bottle will cost 1.35 instead of 1.25 euros. Until recently, the product was on sale for 99 cents.
The 0.33 liter cans will also be ten cents more expensive (new price: 85 cents). If you buy in advance, you also have to pay extra for the Coke products at Aldi Nord. The six pack of 0.5 liter bottles now costs 3.69 instead of 3.29 euros.
