AOC Computer Monitor G4309VX/D Review

Introducing the AOC G4309VC/D computer monitor. AOC latest 43” gaming monitor. First look at the specification of the monitor you will know that it is made with the gamer in mind.

Featuring a 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) display. The AOC G4309VX/D deliver an ultra-crisp picture. This means that user can expect a brilliant and sharp image with more screen “real estate” then the lower resolution one.

Beside being 4k and having an ultra-crisp display. The AOC gaming monitor also have 144hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. So, if you game require you to have quick reflexes like an FPS game or RTS game, then you will be heartened that this computer monitor serve its purpose with its 1ms response time. Getting the first shot will be that much easier. 

If you are worried about tearing issue when it comes to the adrenaline pumping games that you are playing AOC had it covered with its Adaptive Sync technology on this monitor. AOC adaptive sync technology will give your picture the fluid, artifact-free, and smooth performance. 

Visually, if you put the AOC monitor beside a “branded” monitor, you will realise that they will not be losing much in the picture quality department. The AOC G4309VC/D is VESA-certified DisplayHDR 1000. Unlike other HDR compatible screens, true DisplayHDR 1000 produce astonishing brightness, contrast, and colours; with the help of local dimming and super high peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. 

For those that are unsure on VESA certification, here is a brief of it. It is a third-party certification body, meaning they are not related to AOC.  It is currently the open standard for HDR quality performance and only display that meet all their specifications and testing may carry the DisplayHDR logo. So, being certified DisplayHDR 1000, means that the AOC G4309VC/D is indeed a quality monitor that deliver the true HDR experience. They are not just claiming it like some shady monitor brand.

AOC VA panel display also deliver 178/178-degree viewing angle while maintaining consistent image quality and colours from different viewing angle. The AOC G4309VC/D also support sRGB up to 145% with its Quantum Dot Technology. AOC said that their Quantum Dot technology utilizes semiconducting nanocrystal that emit and absorb light precisely to generate the vibrant and dynamic colour for the monitor. 

The monitor also come with a unique Picture-in-Picture function which allow you to fine-tune content from different PCs sources onto your screen at once. Meaning, you will be able to link up your laptop and your PC to the same monitor and display the respective information side by side. Good for referencing certain stuffs from different machine. But for a gaming monitor, I would think that it is much more a gimmick then something that will be utilized regularly.

If you worry about flickering, this computer monitor come with an antiflicker technology to reduce flickering. Giving you a mor comfortable gaming experience. AOC uses a DC (direct current) backlight system instead of the regular PC which uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) which causes flickering on some display. 

While gaming, you can switch on AOC low input lag mode and tweak your response time to the best. AOC claim that this mode rewires the monitor in favour of raw response time. So, I am thinking that the monitor loses some picture quality and focus on giving you the fastest response time possible for your game, which is crucial in FPS shooter.
