Normally, the Arlberg is crossed through the tunnel underneath, but this is currently closed due to renovation work. As a result, drivers on the way from Tyrol to Vorarlberg have to take long alternative routes through the Tyrolean Lech Valley or via Bavaria. According to the authorities, it is not yet clear when the closure of the Arlberg road will be lifted.
Meanwhile, clean-up work is in full swing in St. Anton am Arlberg. During the storm on Friday evening, two streams burst their banks. The water entered cellars and some streets were flooded. Several cars were swept into a river, but the vehicles were unoccupied.
Massive landslides also occurred in other parts of Tyrol. The Sellraintalstraße (L13) and the Sellraintalstraße (L13) are therefore also currently impassable.
