Cybercriminals are targeting users of Amazon Prime. If you react wrongly, you can lose a lot of money.
Criminals are currently trying to lure criminals, Amazon Prime user through fake emails. The consumer advice center warns of such messages that confront the recipient with an allegedly running credit card and threaten to block prime benefits.
At first glance, the email appears plausible by specifying an extension date and a membership number. On closer review, however, the message turns out to be a fraud attempt.

The consumer advice center advises to move these emails unanswered to the spam folder. Under no circumstances should users react to the mail, since in the worst case this can lead to emptying the account by the fraudsters.
Even if the email appears serious at first glance, it contains common signs of a fraud attempt.
Fake Amazon email: pay attention to these signs
The consumer center recommends the following characteristics:
- Impersonal salutation indicates phishing
- Dubious sender address with suspicious link
- Change of language, for example “27th June”
- Fictional membership number as a clear fraud indicator
WhatsApp users should also be particularly attentive at the moment. Fraudsters lure with false job offers. This can be expensive for the victims.
