Fraudsters are currently using a fake competition on WhatsApp to get money from their victims and as a result. Under no circumstances should users take part.
An initially inconspicuous quiz with some questions and a few clicks on virtual boxes – this promises an unusual competition, but the aim of which is to misuse your personal data.
According to information from “Mimikama”, a fraudulent competition under the title “Moët & Chandon Sommer 2025” is currently spreading via WhatsApp. The participants are tempted to take part in an alleged competition in which a cool box with champagne is promised.
Alleged WhatsApp competition is a perfidious phishing method
However, a phishing attack is hidden behind this message, which is targeting the waste of personal data and can lure users unnoticed into costly subscription traps.
The links contained in the WhatsApp message lead to dubious websites that have no connection to the Moët & Chandon brand. Instead, those affected are forwarded to foreign domains such as wpclick.cc and Androidlnk.cc.
This is how the fraudsters proceed

“Mimikama” explains how these fraudsters proceed: They use a deceptively real imitation of the Moët & Chandon brand to gain the trust of the users. The fake message spreads through a chain letter mechanism in which it is suggested that the participants have to forward the link to at least 20 contacts.
