BrokerLink has added to its roster with the acquisition of two brokerages in Alberta.
On Feb. 13, BrokerLink announced its acquisition of Armour Insurance Group Ltd. and Northgate Insurance Centre, effective Feb. 1.
These latest deals come on the heels of BrokerLink’s ‘milestone’ acquisition of Schill Insurance in British Columbia. That transaction, also effective Feb. 1, was BrokerLink’s first deal in B.C., “marking a major milestone as the brokerage becomes a true national player with more than 200 locations coast-to-coast,” as BrokerLink describes the deal.
Surrey, B.C.-based Schill Insurance offers home, auto and commercial insurance with specialties in construction, automotive dealers, residential realty (strata), private client (high net worth), marine, and travel insurance, among others.
The Alberta acquisitions expand BrokerLink’s presence in several communities and support its commitment to serve customers the way they choose — in-person, by phone and through enhanced online service capabilities, “which will be even stronger thanks to its newest team members,” BrokerLink says in a press release.
Headquartered in Edmonton, Armour Insurance is an online brokerage that’s been serving customers throughout Alberta and southern Ontario for nearly three decades. It offers home, vehicle, business, travel, pet insurance and more.
“Our mission has always been to provide insurance with H.E.A.R.T. (humble, effective, adaptable, respectful and transparent),” says Armour Insurance president Robert Marusin. “Joining BrokerLink enables us to continue excelling in the areas we’re known for, while gaining additional resources to enhance our service and reach.”
Armour Insurance adds it will continue to operate “business as usual, delivering the same personalized service and expert guidance customers expect.”
The second Alberta acquisition — Northgate Insurance — strengthens BrokerLink’s presence in Calgary. Northgate Insurance was established in 1988 and offers personalized, local service. Specializing in personal insurance, the team customizes solutions for home, auto, condo, seasonal residence, home business and tenant insurance.
“Northgate Insurance is deeply committed to the community, proudly supporting local charities and actively participating in fundraising events,” BrokerLink says in the release. It adds team members will continue serving customers as part of the BrokerLink team.
BrokerLink, an Intact Financial Corporation subsidiary, is one of Canada’s largest P&C brokerages with more than 200 branches and 4,000 employees.
