Accordingly, 372 flights will be canceled this month and 303 flights next. The company said these “optimizations” should give crew members “a better work-life balance.”
The airline had negotiated better working conditions with the unions after a strike by its employees on Monday. During the work stoppage from June 23 to 25, around 300 connections and thus 60 percent of all flights were canceled.
Since many airlines in Europe cut jobs during the corona pandemic, they are now complaining about staff shortages. Airlines and airports are faced with a “turbulent summer”, explained Brussels Airlines.
