Buttock augmentation, also known as gluteal augmentation, is a procedure that improves the buttocks’ form, size, and contour. Buttock implants, fat grafting, or a mix of the two are used to accomplish this.
Buttock implants are silicone-filled implants surgically implanted deep within the buttock tissues. Fat grafting is used to enlarge the buttocks by transferring fat from another body part into the buttocks’ tissues. Brazilian butt-lift is a term used to describe this practice.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has issued an urgent warning about the risks of Brazilian butt lifts. For detailed consultation book an appointment with Dr Siddharth Prakash. He is a renowned Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeon practicing at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. He is an alumnus of KEM Hospital, Mumbai and Harvard Medical School, Boston. He is arguably the best plastic surgeon in Mumbai.
What might buttock augmentation surgery help you with?
- Enhance the fullness, roundness, and projection of your buttocks.
- Improve your self-esteem and confidence.
A buttock lift can be achieved through surgical excision of soft tissue in addition to buttock augmentation techniques.
When should you get a buttock lift?
The underlying tissue that supports skin and fat in the buttock area is improved by a buttock lift, also known as a gluteal lift.
Poor tissue elasticity can result in drooping of the buttocks due to aging, UV exposure, pregnancy, severe weight changes, and genetic causes.
Excess sagging skin and fat are removed to provide a smoother and more attractive contour. A typical gluteal lift will not increase the size of a butt, but it may help to smooth out a dimpled, irregular skin surface. This technique can be done as part of a body lift or as a stand-alone operation.
Buttock lifts aren’t just for getting rid of extra fat; they’re also for adding volume to the buttocks. To increase volume, fat grafting, buttock implants, or auto-augmentation (where some of your own tissue is left beneath the skin) can all be used. Liposuction may be used to improve contouring. Only the best plastic surgeon in Mumbai can help you achieve all this.
Procedure
Autologous fat transfer (using your own natural fatty tissue), often known as the Brazilian buttock lift, and gluteal implant surgery with or without fat transfer for further contouring are the two most prevalent treatments for buttock augmentation.
- Fat transfer from the patient’s own body
- Suction tubes (cannulas) are used in liposuction to remove fatty tissue from parts of the body with excess tissue, such as the belly, hips, back, or thighs.
- The fat is treated in preparation for fat transfer.
- Syringes with cannulas are used to re-inject the fat.
In order to inject the fat, three to five small incisions are usually required. However, these incision sites are readily disguised by clothing.
The fat is transplanted in layers at multiple levels, and the cannula is moved back and forth to ensure a smooth, linear deposit of fatty tissue is left to restructure and enlarge the buttocks area.
Sutures are used to seal the liposuction incisions.
Following surgery, drains are implanted, and a compression garment is worn.
It’s unlikely that all of the fat transferred in a BBL operation will survive. It’s possible that the final result will be smaller than expected. Depending on a patient’s initial results, a second or third round of BBL operations may be recommended.
The BBL operation is largely about optimizing the torso shapes, increasing the waistline, decreasing back rolls, and providing a curvier figure. It is commonly referred to as a “butt lift.” In a conventional BBL, no skin is removed, and the “lift” result is essentially an increase in buttock projection.
