After 10 years at the head of Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday that he was resigning. While the time is for speculation regarding his replacement, one personality seems to be the favorite on the on-chain betting platform Polymarket: Pierre Poilievre.
In fact, punters are currently giving 89% of their bets to the conservative, nicknamed the “Canadian Trump” by the media:

Additionally, the conservative is also seen as a pro-crypto candidate. The main reason for this is comments made in March 2022, when he was already criticizing the monetary policy of the government in place:

As the race for Prime Minister unfolds, it will be interesting to see if Pierre Poilievre renews his positionand how he will seek to integrate cryptocurrencies into his political program.
