Career
Chalaki started his career as a customer executive at Tata Telecommunication Services in Hyderabad, Telangana. He has also worked as a part-time mimicry artist at Hussain Sagar Tourism Boat Rides. Later, he worked as a manager in a guest house. He then started working as an RJ at Radio Mirchi and hosted the radio show ‘Chanti Bank.’

In 2009, he made his debut in the Telugu film ‘Jallu’ in which he played a supporting role.

Chanti has appeared in many Telugu films such as ‘Dil Unna Raju’ (2016), ‘Sita Ramanka Bahaghara Kali Jugare’ (2017), ‘Love States’ (2017), and ‘Raahu’ (2020).
Television
In 2013, he was spotted by the Telugu film producer Shyam Prasad Reddy who asked him to perform in the Telugu TV comedy show ‘Jabardasth’ which aired on ETV Telugu. He agreed to it, and participated in the TV show with his team named ‘Chalaki Chanti & Team.’ He gained immense popularity with the show.

He then performed in many popular TV comedy shows like ‘Connexion’ (2015), ‘Pataas’ (2015), and ‘Sudheer Gaadi Intlo Deyyam’ (2019). In 2022, he participated in the TV reality show ‘Bigg Boss Telugu 6’ hosted by the Indian actor Nagarjuna Akkineni.

Controversies
Left the TV Show Three Times
Chanti came into the limelight with his TV comedy show ‘Jabardasth,’ however, he left the show three times. In an interview, when a reporter asked him the reasons behind it. He said,
My name did not come due to Jabardast. I came to the Jabardasth show where I made films. I went out to the Jabardasth show three times. If someone goes out, they will not be taken back into the show. This is their rule. But they respected me. Because I have never spoken wrong about anyone. No matter what..whatever goes wrong..they ask right away. Everyone knows this. Once I said that I will take a gap of three months. I felt a headache after doing it continuously, so I took rest. The second time I went with my personal problems. For the third time, 27 days of shooting were in the US schedule. I don’t have the level to talk about anyone.”
He also shared that once he had a major fight with the team of the show as they were paying him less. He had a heated argument with the makers, and then he decided to quit the show.
Landed Into a Facebook Fight
In 2016, he made a Facebook post on which one of the fans of the Indian actor Prabhas started abusing Chanti in the comment section of the post. When the fan went out of control, Chanti filed a complaint against him at Yellandu Police Station, Yellandu, Telangana.
