KA gray hair, no shorts for hotel stays: New guidelines for the cabin crew of “Air India” have triggered discussions on the Internet in India. While some found the rules excessive, others agreed.
Under the new rules, male cabin crew must use hair gel and shave the remaining hair daily if they have large bald patches, according to the airline’s new rules manual, which local television station NDTV uploaded embedded in an article. Female cabin crew must therefore wear earrings and paint nails to match the uniform. Gray hair should all be dyed regularly. When staying overnight in hotels, employees are not allowed to wear ripped jeans, shorts or miniskirts.
The reason for the changed regulations, the local news agency ANI, citing cabin crew, wrote that the previous image no longer met international standards. The new management wants to change perception. The Indian company Tata Sons bought the state airline a few months ago.
