The cell phone discounter Klarmobil is known for cheap cell phone contracts in the D network. The Crash sub-brand is now offering a 50 percent discount on all Vodafone tariffs. This gives you, for example, the 30 GB LTE Allnet Flat for only 14.99 instead of 29.99 euros per month. We took a closer look at the new portfolio.
Inexpensive Vodafone tariffs for frequent surfers
Surfing and telephoning in D-Netz quality, as the saying goes, is what German mobile phone providers charge their customers well for. So requested Vodafone for his smallest or cheapest cell phone contract GigaMobil XS with 5 GB of data volume, believe it or not, 29.99 euros per month – although the provider is currently offering a 20 percent discount, 23.99 euros remain on the bill.
If you don’t want to spend so much money, you should contact the Klarmobil brand look around. The cell phone discounter also uses the well-developed Vodafone network and requires it for its smallest Tariff with 10 GB data volume however just once 9.99 euros per month. The top rate with 30 GB only costs five euros more and is therefore the current one Price-performance tip under cellphone contracts. The golden mean is the 20 GB all-network flat rate for EUR 12.99 per month.
Before April 14, 2023 Crash still on a cashback logic. The basic fees were higher, but depending on the tariff (one-time) 120, 180 or 200 euros were transferred to the bank account. If you took your phone number with you, there was an additional change bonus of 50 euros, which unfortunately no longer exists with the new price model. The connection price of 9.99 euros does not apply. The bottom line is that customers pay practically the same, but now no longer have to send an SMS to receive a refund or reward. Nevertheless, the tariffs are only worthwhile in the first 24 months, which we will discuss in more detail later.
Unlimited calls and SMS
All Crash plans come with one by default Allnet flat rate for telephony and SMS – including EU roaming, of course. You surf with up to 50 Mbit/s in the Vodafone LTE network (25 Mbit/s in upload), once the data volume has been used up, the transmission rate is reduced to 64 kbit/s. This is exactly where the big difference to the mobile phone contracts of the provider lies. In-house customers have access to 5G Internet with up to 500 Mbit/s, so they are up to ten times faster. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether that alone justifies the enormous additional costs.
You can flexibly determine the start of the contract. The minimum term is 24 months. But be careful: From the 25th month, the prices double if you don’t cancel at least one month before they expire.

Top offer with a bland aftertaste! Saving foxes are well advised with the (new) Vodafone tariffs from Crash, but you should definitely keep an eye on the minimum contract period. Because here the mobile phone discounter has cheated and secretly increased the prices: the monthly fees were previously at 14.99 euros (10 GB), 19.99 euros (18 GB) and 24.99 euros (30 GB), but now they will EUR 9.99, EUR 12.99 (for 20 GB!) or EUR 14.99. From the 25th month, however, the cost trap threatens, since the basic fee doubles and you effectively pay five euros more than with the old price model – not a nice move.
The only advantage over the cashback logic is that SMS requests are no longer necessary to receive the promised savings. Unfortunately, the exchange bonus has also been cancelled. The omission of the connection price is at least a small consolation. If you change your mobile phone contract every two years anyway, you don’t take any risks here. Because the total costs in the first 24 months are practically at the same level. And the performance offered in the Vodafone network is more than fair. Nevertheless, there are still a few cheaper (or at least as good) offers in our tariff comparison.
By the way: The maximum surfing speed of 50 Mbit/s always refers to the download. When uploading, i.e. when uploading or sending files, the maximum transfer rates are 25 Mbit/s. If you don’t send 8K videos to your friends every day, you should still be fine with it. In any case, the speed is easily sufficient for music and video streaming, as long as your smartphone has LTE reception.
