IThese days there is once again excitement about the high approval ratings of the AfD. In fact, all centrist democratic parties must be concerned about this party’s soaring. However, a competition between these parties as to who is “to blame” does not lead any further. We’ll have to bother digging a little deeper.

Compared to the times of Konrad Adenauer or Herbert Wehner, voter turnout and interest in politics, especially in political debates in Germany, has fallen steadily. Disliking the softening of important debates, I have often been part of controversial debates and the subject of violent reactions.
