The regional Argentinian series is coming to an end and we will end the 2022 season with the last event: Barcelona Global Final, which will be played in person and bring together the best eight teams from Europe, North America, and LATAM between October 13 and 15.
The organizer of this event, FiReSports, has finally presented the venue of the tournament, along with the format and the first three qualifiers, which gives us more information about the FiReLEAGUE Global Final third edition. From what we know so far, here is how the Latin American contest is going to be held.
The List of Attendees for the Tournament
As we have mentioned earlier, the Global Final of this series will be played in person, with the best teams in EMEA, NA, and LATAM competing for the prize of $150,000. With the confirmation that it was going to take place in Barcelona, it only remained to define the eight squads participating at Camp Nou stadium.
9z, 00 Nation, and Imperial are the First Qualifiers
Among the eight teams that will participate in the FiReLEAGUE Global Final, we already know three names that will be present. The players from 9z Team achieved the first classification after being proclaimed champion of regional finals in Buenos Aires in 2021, while 00 Nation and Imperial were joined in the last hours.
Two Winners of the 2022 Regional Finals
By the 7th of August, we will meet two new squads competing at the mythical Camp Nou football stadium. These two places will be occupied by the two winners of the current edition of the Flow FiReLEAGUE league. On August 4, the final draw of the Playoff phase began, and, from what we see here, this may end up being one of the best Argentinian tournaments we have experienced so far.
In the definition stage of the contest, we don’t have a clear favorite. Both 9z and Windingo are favored in this event after securing a place in the upper final, which is clear from all betting odds on cover.gg. But at the moment, we can’t say with certainty that some of the other teams, such as Isurus or Boca Juniors, will be unable to beat them. So, we will have to be a little more patient until finding out the other two teams classified for the FiReLEAGUE Global Final.
Three More Teams to Join the Event
At the moment, the regional qualifiers are ongoing, and we do not know the exact list of teams that will compete in the tournament in October. Although three teams will definitely be present, two additional squads will join the list of participants via EU and NA qualifiers. And the final spot will be rounded out through a third direct invite.
Currently, the list of attendees for the contest looks as follows:
- 9z Team
- 00 Nation
- Imperial
- Flow FiReLEAGUE 2022 (1st place)
- Flow FiReLEAGUE 2022 (2nd place)
- NA Qualifier
- EU Qualifier
- TBA (direct invitation)
The Venue for the the Global Final
Recently, FiReSPORTS has announced Camp Nou as the stadium where the FiReLEAGUE Global Final will be held. The qualified teams will compete in the stadium where countless world stars have managed to shine. This FC Barcelona’s home stadium can accommodate almost 100,000 spectators. That said, the qualified teams from LATAM, North America and Europe will seek to crown themselves in a stadium with a lot of winning history.
Where and When to See the Event
FiReSports is currently holding the third edition of the FiReLEAGUE series. For this time, the tournament that began in Latin America has been growing exponentially.
The Global Finals will include the eight best teams, and the winner will be the BLAST Showdown representative. If nothing changes, the format of the event will remain the same, with a round-robin for the Group stage and single elimination for the Playoffs. All matches will be played in the Best of 3, except for the Grand final (Bo5).
Between October 13 and 16, you can see the FiReLEAGUE Global Final through the official Twitch account. As long as you are logged in with your account, you can interact with other fans and respond live to the action from this live streaming service.
