The popular “Nippon” puffed rice chocolate is currently being recalled. According to the manufacturer, two types of products may contain plastic particles. Among others, Rewe and Lidl sell the chocolate.
The manufacturer Hosta informs about a recall: In tests, plastic parts were detected in two batches of the “Nippon” puffed rice snacks in the 200-gram pack. The particles apparently come from the cover of a packaging machine and can have gotten into the affected batches, as Produktwarning.eu informs.

“Nippon” chocolate may contain plastic particles
Affected customers can return the products with or without a receipt to the respective retailer for a refund of the purchase price. The “Nippon” products were sold at Lidl and Rewe, among others.
These batches are affected by the recall:
- Batch numbers: L291 and L292
Consumption is strongly discouraged here: plastic parts, as well as metal or glass splinters, can lead to serious injuries in the mouth and throat. In the worst case, internal injuries and bleeding can even occur.
