fSoccer national goalkeeper Kevin Trapp stays with Eintracht Frankfurt and has decided against moving to Manchester United. “Yesterday I informed those responsible at both clubs that I had decided to join Eintracht. I experienced sensational things here with Eintracht and we made history together. The start of the season was bumpy, but I have absolute confidence in us,” said the 32-year-old of “Bild” (Thursday).
Trapp: “I hope everyone can understand that”
Manchester United had offered Trapp a four-year contract, which, according to media reports, he initially wanted to accept. “It is correct that there is a written offer. Manchester United is a world club. I hope everyone can understand that I am dealing with such an offer and thinking about it,” explained Trapp, who has a contract with the Europa League winner from Hesse up to and including June 30, 2024.
The Telegraph had previously reported that Trapp was too expensive for the Premier League club. United did not want to pay the 25 million euros demanded by Frankfurt. Accordingly, Manchester are now concentrating on the Slovakian national goalkeeper Martin Dubravka (33) from Newcastle United.
According to media reports, Eintracht Frankfurt now wants to offer the native Saarlander a contract extension until the summer of 2026 and a follow-up contract for the time after his career.
