Do not consume under any circumstances: manufacturer recalls bay leaves because of carcinogenic substances
The manufacturer Global Foods Trading GmbH informed about a recall. A carcinogenic substance was detected in the manufacturer’s dried bay leaves.
The manufacturer Global Foods Trading GmbH recalls dried bay leaves with the name “Pran Dry Bay Leaf”. There was evidence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), said the portal of the federal states and the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety via Lebensmittelwarning.de on Friday.
The 50-gram packs with an expiry date of November 18 this year are affected. According to the Federal Environment Agency, PAHs can be carcinogenic.
