Donald Trump, who recently announced his candidacy for the next presidential elections of 2024, has launched a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) bearing his image and allowing you to enjoy various experiences in his company. The day after the announcement, the 45,000 NFTs available at a single price of 99 dollars were all sold.

Through a message on its own network Truth Socialthe former President of the United States Donald Trump has announced the launch of a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in his likeness. Thus, the billionaire and business leader appears in the form of vignettes representing him in superhero uniform or in various humorous postures.
These NFTs, all sold at time of writingwere mint on the Polygon (MATIC) sidechain numbered 45,000 and were launched at a single price of $99. The NFTs in this collection are each available at a maximum of 20 units, and can be traded on all NFT marketplaces that support Polygon, according to information on the site created for the occasion.
This collection representing the former president recalls imagery from American baseball card collectionswhich have always met with great success and have also seen a marked revival of interest during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following the announcement of the launch of this collection, shortly after Donald Trump announced he was running for president again Americans of 2024, the latter was suspected of wanting to finance his campaign with the funds raised following the sale.
However, it is explicitly stated on the dedicated site that the company NFT INT LLC, which ensures the sale, “uses the name, likeness and image of Donald J. Trump under paid license […] », and that the ex-president is paid for this use. Otherwise, it is stated that the collection is in no way related to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

NFTs offering a meeting with the former president
During the sale, each purchase of NFT offered the equivalent of a “lottery ticket” allowing access to certain experiences with Donald Trump such as a Zoom call, a cocktail party at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, or a dinner party in Miami.
During the purchase procedure of an NFT, the interested parties were invited to buy 45 NFT (a price of 4,455 dollars), which offered them the possibility of obtaining 45 lottery tickets simultaneously, but above all, the assurance of attend a gala dinner with Donald Trump.
According to the information available on the NFT website, the latter could be obtained both by paying by credit card or in cryptocurrencies.
As a reminder, in September 2021, Donald Trump declared that Bitcoin (BTC) and more broadly all cryptocurrencies were harming the US dollar, adding that the digital currency sector was a “potential disaster”.
