EA driver fell eight meters from a bridge onto another lane with her vehicle in Lehrte, Lower Saxony. As the police in Hanover announced on Wednesday, the 58-year-old’s car landed on the roof. However, the woman was only slightly injured and was able to free herself.
The driver drove her car off the road to the right late Tuesday evening and then broke through the bridge railing. The driver of an approaching car, which was only about 15 meters away, was able to brake just in time. Together with his passengers, he cared for the injured woman and alerted the emergency services.
They took care of the accident driver on site and took her to a hospital. According to the police, the exact processes were initially unclear, but a first breath alcohol test was “clearly positive”.
A blood sample was then taken from the woman for a more precise alcohol test, and her driver’s license was also confiscated. Criminal proceedings were also instituted against them for endangering road traffic.
