As El Salvador continues its bitcoin purchases, its reserve now stands at over 6,000 BTC. At current prices, that’s $570 million.
El Salvador crosses the milestone of 6,000 bitcoins in reserve
Earlier in December, El Salvador conceded a few points of its Bitcoin law to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to contract a loan with a total value of 3.5 billion dollars, financed at 40 by the IMF. As we saw subsequently, said concessions are in reality symbolic and do not hinder the country's ambitions with regard to its long-term objectives.
El Salvador therefore continues its acquisition of one bitcoin per daywith some larger one-off purchases. Thus, the country crossed the threshold of 6,000 bitcoins this weekend. In total, this brings the acquisitions for the month of December to 50 BTC, and this national reserve is now valued at approximately $570 million:

For the moment, El Salvador is in 6th position among the countries with the largest Bitcoin holders. Behind him, however, there is little competition, with Venezuela which owns 240 BTC:
