“I’m fine, I’m not frail yet.”
Wolfsburg’s champion playmaker from 2009 Zvjezdan “Zwetschge” Misimovic has remained the humorous person he was as a professional. The Bosnian, who was born and lives in Munich, celebrates his 40th birthday on Sunday. He spends his football retirement in restlessness.
“Plum” is now in fashion!
In the final phase of his playing career, he founded the real estate company “M10-Wohnbau” with his friend Stefan Niedermeier. Now the two buddies had a whole new idea. Misimovic: “We bought the North American rights for the ‘distortedpeople’ label.”
But “Zwetschge” has also remained true to football. Misimovic has also taken over the post of sports director of the Bosnian national team. The ex-professional commutes regularly from his home in Munich-Trudering to Sarajevo: “I don’t get bored even at the age of 40.”
The former playmaker began his career at Bayern Munich. The Bosnian came to VfL Wolfsburg in 2008 via stints at VfL Bochum and 1. FC Nürnberg. Misimovic ended his career in 2017 with BJ Renhe in China.
His eldest son Luka (17) plays for the juniors at FC Ingolstadt and, as a talented attacking midfielder, has already played 12 junior internationals for Bosnia.
