The German economy fears that increasingly strict climate protection regulations will cut it off. The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the Association of Municipal Companies (VKU) criticize that the greenhouse gas emissions requirements are already difficult to meet and increase costs. Things will get even worse if the EU further tightens its emissions targets. “The formulation of ever new, higher climate targets leads to deep uncertainty across the broader economy,” said DIHK Managing Director Achim Dercks to the FAZ on Monday in Berlin.
