Start like a dream
Other airlines have long been flying the Boeing 787, including Lufthansa. The twin-engine long-haul aircraft, colloquially known as the Dreamliner, comes into the fleet as version -9, the first machine has arrived in Frankfurt. Lufthansa was in a hurry, so it entered the daily registration market. The aircraft comes from Hainan Airlines and will be converted to the Lufthansa standard. After that, the D-ABPA starts under the baptismal name Berlin for training in Germany, later from Frankfurt to Toronto. From autumn, the second machine will bear the name Frankfurt and the registration D-ABPD. All in all, 32 Dreamliners will join the Lufthansa Group. Biggest trump card: less kerosene consumption.
