The popular battle royale game “Fortnite” is a third-person shooter. The players are looking over their character’s shoulder from behind. This helps with the chaotic action of the title, but also ensures that users always have their current skin in view – an important part of the business model.
Fortnite as a first-person shooter?
A first-person perspective isn’t new to “Fortnite” itself: Save the World mode, the title’s original PvE game mode, has offered such a view since its release. However, this is not fully developed because users have always preferred the third-person perspective.

Epic Games may be working on updating the first-person view for PvE mode as well as the more popular Battle Royale mode. As “HYPEX” notes, the perspective would complement the zero-build mode nicely and make this experience an even more classic shooter experience – perhaps that would also be a positive step for the game as an eSports discipline.
