Last season, when a lot of things were new in the team and in its support, the team ended up in a position that was satisfactory at sixth place in the table, but otherwise caused little happiness. Markus Krösche spoke of a season that was comparable to an “expedition”, the difficulties of which reminded the Eintracht sporting director of a complex mountain tour that took them all “not to the Feldberg”, but “more to Mount Everest” – and, to stay with the image, left some of the protagonists quite out of breath, something that Krösche also noticed, but expressed in a more friendly way in public: “We saw many things that we can improve.”
