The city of Talence and its merchants wish to “attract a new, young and international clientele and take a step into the Web3 revolution”. This desire is being realized through a partnership with the French company Lyzi, offering a turnkey solution, allowing the city's businesses to accept crypto-payments.
Talence: a pioneer in cryptocurrency payments
Now, merchants in the town of Talence, a town of 44,000 inhabitants in the suburbs of Bordeaux in Gironde, accept payments in cryptocurrencies.
This decision follows the following observation: 12% of French people will own cryptocurrencies in 2024. Talence's merchant associations have thus decided to join forces with the French company Lyzi in order to equip their stores to allow their customers to pay in cryptocurrencies.
Currently, around thirty retailers are participating in this test phase, although only a dozen stores are already equipped. A full implementation is planned for this summeraccording to Lucie Heigeas of the Coeur de Talence association.
The city of Talence is very proud to become a pioneer in crypto payment in France and to set foot in the Web3 revolution.

Once merchants understand that BTC is a better currency, a better medium to ensure their treasury and that they understand that they can become their own bank and their own payment provider, then they will switch to a solution like SwissBitcoinPay or directly with their own BTC node and their Lightning wallet.
