According to information from the editorial network Germany, Banaszak and co-chair Franziska Brantner will take part together in the meeting with Union Chancellor candidate Merz, which is scheduled to take place before Christmas.
Banaszak was elected to the dual leadership of the Green Party together with Franziska Brantner in mid-November. He sees similarities with Merz in support for Ukraine, differences in climate protection and economic investments, as he made clear.
He can also imagine even more personal encounters with Merz. When asked whether the two members of the Bundestag had ever had a beer together, Banaszak said: “Not yet, but I would like to invite him to my local bar in Duisburg. You can take a lot from life in the Ruhr area with you for your political work.”
