TORONTO, ON, OCTOBER 25, 2024/insPRESS/ – The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) announced the winners of its 2024 Awards of Excellence, recognizing exceptional talent within Ontario’s broker channel. Announcements were made at their Awards Gala during their annual convention, IBAOcon. The Gala was sponsored by Allianz Global Assistance.
“Brokers are constantly pushing themselves, evolving their businesses and going above and beyond for their communities,” said IBAO COO Brett Boadway. “These awards recognize top achievers, but all of our finalists and nominees had truly impressive accomplishments. Congratulations to all.”

Large Brokerage | PetleyHare
PetleyHare is an Oshawa-based brokerage, known for its unique marketing and forward-thinking approach. “I’m really proud of our team and the fact we can take any opportunity—and in most cases it would be easy to say no—but we generally dive in head-first,” said Adam Hare, President.
Small Brokerage | Jones Insurance
Jones Insurance is a Thunder Bay-based brokerage known for its community involvement.
“A big part of our purpose is our community and the communities we represent. We’re big business strength, but small-town care,” said Jeff Jones, President & Commercial Lines Manager.
DEI | Christopher Aloussis, LINK Canada
Christopher is the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Link Canada: 2SLGBTQ+ Insurance network.“The thing I’m most thankful for is being a member of the LINK Canada Board. Being able to work with these individuals, learn from them and be able to grow with them,” said Christopher.
Rising Talent | Dorothy Renzi, KRGinsureDorothy is the Director of Commercial Lines at KRGinsure, Chair of IBAO’s Young Brokers Council and facilitator for Humber College’s Insurance Management Program.“Regardless of whether it’s a client or someone I’m mentoring, the bottom line on everything I do is that I love helping people,” said Dorothy.

Previous winners in 2013 and 2014, the Insurance Brokers of Durham Region understand their community. “Our Board is made of experienced brokers who each bring their own strength and connections in the industry. This mix of people really helps us understand and meet the needs of Durham brokers,” said Nicki Burns, IBDR President.
