A new board of directors and new executive officers for 2024-2025 were named by the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) following confirmation of the appointments Sept. 26 during the association’s annual general meeting in Collingwood, Ont.
The executive committee will now be comprised of:
- Traci Boland – Chair (Ontario)
- Mathieu Brunet – President (Québec)
- Brett McGregor – President-elect (Manitoba)
- Jessica Asano – Vice president (British Columbia)
Incoming president Brunet is a broker and vice president of MP2B Insurance in Laval, Que.
President-elect McGregor is president of Guild/HMS Insurance Group Inc., an independent brokerage with seven locations in Manitoba.
And new vice president Asano is vice president of Thunderbird Insurance in Victoria, B.C.
“IBAC’s new board of directors brings together dedicated individuals from across the country with a broad range of knowledge and experience,” IBAC CEO Peter Braid says in an Oct. 15 press release.
“This strong leadership will enable us to face the challenges of the future and ensure that we remain a united and effective voice for insurance brokers and consumers.”
Along with the new executives, the incoming board for 2022-2023 will be made up of:
- Michele Carver – Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia
- Jody Lohr – Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta
- Jaycee Turtle – Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan
- Don Normandeau – Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba
- Suzanne Pountney – Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario
- Michael Bastone – Toronto Insurance Council
- Lucie Fréchette – Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec
- James Higgins– Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick
- Rhonda Kelly – Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia
- Mary Beth McInnis – Insurance Brokers Association of Prince Edward Island
- Bill Buckingham – Insurance Brokers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador
